The seventh edition of the Summer School of History of Popular Traditions starts tomorrow

SALENTO – The seventh edition of the Summer School of the History of Popular Traditions organized by Liquilab starts tomorrow Monday, July 18 between Tricase, Specchia Gallone and Castro. Seminars, workshops, laboratories and public return: the week planned with the theme “fairy tales, life stories and narrators” is intense, with a focus on popular fiction, especially the oral communication.

Monday 18 the evening is dedicated to the opening of the works with a presentation in which readings and performances open to the public intersect with the aim of recreating anecdotes from the history of the past and caressing the collective memory. Appointment to Tricasein Liquilab’s headquarters in Piazzetta Dell’Abate, in the former Dominican convent, in the historic center of the city, where at. 20.30 “Narrators and Popular Memories in Tricase” is staged with the introduction and coordination of Ornella Ricchiuto, sociologist and researcher in cultural anthropology and member of Liquilab’s scientific committee. Alfredo De Giuseppe alternates with “8 hours, under the clock”, Salvatore Musio with the “fil-rose” from the Middle Ages in Tricase. Tuesday the 19th the school still holds at Tricaseat the Liquilab site, former Dominican convent, piazzetta Dell’Abate, Tricase’s historic center, where at. 18.30 all participants are welcomed in the Liquilab Workshop with the institutional interventions of Raffaele Pittella, Superintendent of the Archival and Bibliographic Superintendence of Puglia, Francesca Perrone, Archivist of the Archival and Bibliographic Superintendence of Puglia. Ornella Ricchiuto and Eugenio Imbriani, professor of cultural anthropology at the University of Salento, present the school and then off to the workshop entitled “Narrabilia. An anthropological perspective to give voice to the tradition of history” with Fabio Mugnaini, Professor of Cultural Anthropology at the University of Siena. Immediately after, the trip has come to the seminar “Food and Culture – Geoportal for Food Culture: Preview of the VIII Edition of the Summer School of the History of Popular Traditions 2023 ″ with Leandro Ventura, Director of the Central Institute for Intangible Heritage in the Ministry of Culture. From kl. 20.30 the restitution shows are staged: first “Lu cuntu de la cummare furmiculicchia” of the Liquilab Laboratory of Art and Ethnography with the artistic direction of Anna Cinzia Villani and then at. 22.00, in Borgo Puzzu, via Catalano and the ancient center of Tricase, “Nc’è tripe allu Puzzu …!” II edition, dedicated to the village “u Puzzu”, where culture, places, houses, traditions, tales create an alchemy that overcomes the barriers of time and history, and marks the lives and stories of the people who live there and those, who visits it. Artistic itinerary: piazzetta Dell’Abate, via Santo Spirito, via della Carità, via Balie, via Marcello da Lecce, via Catalano. The day concludes with “Liquilab and the Rooms of Memory” with director and actress Ippolito Chiarello, with the participation of the Liquilab Company, based on an anthropological research by Ornella Ricchiuto.
