I’m leaving tomorrow
Marta Pellegrini’s project was also born to help women travel. From 2017 until the outbreak of the pandemic, Pellegrini lived and worked in Thailand, where he had opened a travel agency. After the health crisis, she returned to Italy and launched the online tour operator “Marta Tomorrow Parto”. The operator offers group trips for women who do not know each other, and also provides assistance with online counseling, a service dedicated to travelers who decide to organize their first trip alone to Thailand. “Group trips – Pellegrini explains – are dedicated to all of them, who wants to travel but has no one to do it with. It is a real experience to discover Thailand off the beaten track. The tours are organized, followed and accompanied directly by me, also through my trusted local representatives ».
However, in terms of online advice and help for travelers only, Pellegrini has compiled two types of advice that can be purchased directly from his blog. One is only dedicated to the 30-minute call where Pellegrini helps build the travel project by providing suggestions on how to get around, experiences to do and lesser known attractions. The other, the more complete, provides a package of advice plus assistance, which consists of one hour of calls and telephone assistance during the journey. Since the opening of the tour operator based in Italy, the manager has also started working on the Maremma, “my country – he emphasizes – and here too I started organizing group tours for women only”. According to Pellegrini, the pandemic has left the tourist with a greater need for freedom during the journey, without timetables to respect and zero restrictions, “but at the same time there is a desire to receive support in case of need”.
Miss Biker is a Facebook community for female motorcyclists that promotes empowerment and combats gender stereotypes. This is how Lisa Cavalli defines her “being”, who founded it in 2014 and now gives a voice to 10,300 female motorcyclists. “My life, thanks to Miss Biker, has changed radically, I would say it has begun” Cavalli begins. Based on the desire to bring together all the female riders who needed advice, support, comparison, inspiration, both beginners and experts, regardless of age, type of motorcycle or origin, the community has become a point of reference for enthusiasts. Cavalli left a secure job to open his VAT number (first an e-commerce merchandising signed by Miss Biker, and then he expanded his consulting and marketing activities to deal with companies in the sector, motorcycle manufacturers and destination tourism).
Almost without realizing it, she has become a motorcycle and clothing tester, blogger, ambassador for some brands and has begun to represent a niche of enthusiasts, now accounting for about 11% of motorcyclists in Italy. He started taking courses, reading books, inventing a job and finding a location. The interactions will affect 82% of active users per month. Lisa uses the community and blog to provide travel advice to female riders; sometimes, in the case of more structured gatherings or tours, it collaborates in partnership with tourist organizations and destinations, and is, if necessary, dependent on travel agencies specializing in motorcycle travel Where can Italian motorcyclists go? According to a recent community survey, the most chosen destination among female motorcyclists for the summer holidays is Trentino Alto Adige, followed by Tuscany, Veneto, Abruzzo and Friuli Venezia Giulia. In terms of foreign countries, France is very popular, followed by Austria and Slovenia. This year, the cost of fuel and the various increases will limit the further trips a little for 55% of the interviewees (example of 200 female riders in the community), but few will give up their holiday in the saddle.
