“Which book are we playing?”, Animated readings and workshops for children

Livorno, July 1, 2022 – From Monday, July 4 at. 17.30 the project returns to the Labronica Library, Kids section, in Villa Fabbricotti “Which book are we playing with?”a cycle of reading-animation activities organized by the Itinera cooperative in collaboration with the municipality of Livorno.

The meetings, scheduled for September 8, begin with animated reading of a children’s story, followed by fun activities and creative theme workshops with the content of the chosen story.

Pre-order required. Participation costs 6 euros per child.

WITH ARTIST HERBARIUM
Some afternoons in the garden you can discover something unexpected if you look curiously among the grass blades. “Look well” by Letizia Iannaccone, a silent book about the pleasure of surrendering oneself to the imagination. At the end the construction of an artist herbarium.

TREASURE HUNT AMONG THE BOOKS
“The Pirate Barbagrossa and the Stinky Sock” by Bernhard Lassahn at the center of the meeting. The story will accompany participants around the library to discover hidden treasures, including riddles and traps.

AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA
Each of us imagined at least once what it would be like to live “at the bottom of the ocean” and how different the world is down there! The Freedom of the Octopus by Maile Meloy Felicita Sala and other illustrated books on the “houses” of sea creatures will help us build an “underwater house”.

THE MUSIC THAT GOES AROUND
A journey to discover the sounds of nature, to take your first steps into the wonderful world of music. In the first part of the meeting there will be read aloud What color is the wind, a book by Anne Herbauts to return to touch, see, feel, listen to things in depth. Subsequently, accompanied and surrounded by music, the boys and girls will build the mythological pan flute and thus manage to capture the sound of the wind.

TREASURE HUNT AMONG THE BOOKS
The children’s library will be the scene of an adventurous treasure hunt among the shelves! After reading Margaret Mahy’s book The Kidnapped Librarian, participants will have to juggle different tracks to get to the last treasure and discover … the end of the story!

VERSE DI-VERS
What happens when animal sounds are mixed with people’s words? Sometimes these different communications of verse magically turn into poems. Based on the reading of the book by Bruno Tognolini and Viola Niccolai Versi di bestie and other illustrated books where poetry and animals are present, we will create a small volume filled with pictures and rhyming words.

WHAT COLOR ARE YOU?
Four crows, three of which do not feel satisfied, want to change their color, while the fourth just wants to be able to fly over the blue sea, over a yellow wheat field and in the red colors of the sunset and always remain the same variety.
My Color by Aziz Fuad will be the book that will allow us to build colored plates that will talk about the beauty of being ourselves and accepting ourselves as we are.
