“Wanderlust Summer”: the exhibition continues at WinArts

At WinArts until July 15 “Wanderlust Summer”: a brilliant collective exhibition, for the first time in Italy, by African artist Nii Odai and Chinese Zhang Le

The purpose of art is to give life form“It’s in one of the most famous passages in Shakespeare’s play”A Midsummer Night’s Dream ‘. Cross the threshold to WinArts and Via Carlo Ravizza 19 in Milan waiting for something special because Wandering summerthe collective, which opens that evening at. 18.30, will somehow make a mark on you and make you live a summer dream.

Summer on Canvas has the power to define the different nuances of the journey it brings with it. Yes ‘desire to wander‘, in its most modern sense, means the desire to travel, to have new experiences, to experience the freedom and excitement of being a foreigner. And travel in art is an act of thought, an attitude, a tendency that leads to discovery and consequently to knowledge. You can cross the universe without taking a step from where you are, because the truth is that it is not a small challenge to reproduce the summer, but it is also fun for the artist, free to pursue the pleasure and represent what is most characteristic for its culture. Travel, as a state of mind, is the clue that leads to the creation of something essential, like a work in the world of art.

The perspective of Nii Odai, born in Ghana in 1991, winner of the award for artist of the year at BE OPEN Art, focuses on the desire to convey an inspiring message that evokes natural emotions and virtues. A feature of Nii Odai’s works is the use of raw colors. According to the artist, they are the closest manifestation of creation, the creator and his ability to evoke our emotions. It will be a real surprise see his works in Italy for the first time live.

The flowers of Zhang Le, Chinese artist born in 1999, is the combination of two opposites: prosperity and vitality on the one hand and fragility and decay on the other. The charm of this contrasting combination is evident, where the beauty is short and fragile, because flowering is always accompanied by rapid decay. Flowers become the symbol of life and fit into this context with the predominance of the vibrancy of the colors of nature in its highest degree of fertility. This is also the first exhibition in Italy for this artist and the expectations are very promising.

The summer off Iskra Shahaj, Albanian by birth, Ferrara at adoption and who today lives in Abu Dhabi, it is influenced by the colors of the Mediterranean and the desert that develop imagination and creativity in her. In the artist’s works there is no narrative, it is a moment captured during the day. For this reason, the paintings do not have a title, but only a number that identifies them. His canvases have loneliness as a recurring theme, understood as a moment of remembrance with oneself. The main character of the scene is always a woman, but her interest is mainly focused on the play of light and color that is created in the folds of her clothes.

Three artists and a single theme, three ways of looking at summer, trying to immortalize it before it escapes, and stealing a grain of it to attach to the canvas before passing by forever, leaving room for autumn melancholy.

Iskra Shahaj

Iskra Shahaj was born in 1988 in Vlore (Albania). He spent his childhood in this poetic city. The attraction of art begins from an early age, when the magic and colors of the Mediterranean develop the imagination and creativity. He attended art school in the town of Vlore and in 2006 he moved to Italy in Ferrara. Gets a degree in cultural heritage and geological sciences. Lives and works in Abu Dhabi. The artist has always paid special attention to female figures, probably because the first feature with images, lines, shapes and colors was the sketches designed by the seamstress. She looked and looked at the pictures and was so impressed that she started drawing from a very young age. From there, his passion for painting was born. The paintings, whether indoor or outdoor scenes, always have solitude as a recurring theme, understood as a moment of remembrance with oneself. There is no narrative, it is a moment captured during the day. For this reason, the paintings do not have a title, but only a number that identifies them. There is reflection, waiting and introspection. In the inner scenes, the artist sees a connection between the interior of the space and the introspective gaze of the motif. The main character of the scene is the woman, but her interest is mainly focused on the play of light and color that is created in the folds of her clothes. He often uses strong colors in contrast to very delicate poses.
