The island of San Servolo in Venice will host the third edition of VID, Venice Innovation Design, on 16 and 17 July next time, an agreement dedicated to sustainability, where the urban renewal process takes place on the island of Lagoon as the protagonist. , owned. of Metropolitan City. San Servolo srl has, by agreement with the sole shareholder in the capital of Venice, long ago chosen to go the way of full energy self-sufficiency and sustainability, and this year, on 16 and 17 July next, VID will present the update of energy efficiency recently unanimously approved by Venice city ​​council, which arranges for the placement of solar panels on load-bearing structures and on the floor.

VID 2022 will also be an opportunity to understand the purpose of the project signed by the landscape architect Andreas Kipar presented by San Servolo srl as part of PNRR dedicated to historic parks. The first edition of VID in 2018 accompanied the implementation of important design interventions carried out on the island of San Servolo: the new reception, new premises in Centro Soggiorno and the new cafeteria. Last year, after the forced break from the pandemic, VID presented the new premises made after a design by the architect Alfonso Femia.

VID is also an important agreement for discussing new visions, ideas and projects, operating and entrepreneurial proposals dedicated to sustainable design, and therefore again this year a selected audience of 100 main characters from the modern world of life will meet in the beautiful and hospitable. the island of San Servolo to get to know each other and increase one’s relationship system.

Architects and entrepreneurs, designers, academics and innovators, representatives of institutions in the sector, attentive observers of the design world – including journalists from the major newspapers and heads of communications and marketing agencies – will bring to life two days of debates, interventions and case history. All of this will coincide with the Festa del Redentore, the most beloved of the Venetians, with a fireworks display that can be enjoyed on the terrace at the end of the gala dinner on Saturday.

Participation in VID is by invitation only, but this year the VID meetings will be live-streaming for the first time, to share more of the debated content.
