Saturday, July 9th (21.15) to Sant’Anatolia di Narco (Largo Ugo Caldarera) Nando e Maila Company presents “Sonata for pipes” (cover image) classical music arias for unusual instruments (in collaboration with the Museo della Canapa). “Sonata per Tubes” is a contemporary circus show that seeks out the musical possibilities of circus objects and instruments, and transforms them into musical instruments through ingenuity and the use of technology. Flying pieces of pipe form a double bass and a cello. The music continues between Rossini, Bach, Beethoven, Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones and Luis Armstrong. Circus feeds the trio’s madness in counterpoint with clubs that turn into a saxophone and with sonorous diaboli. The result is a crescendo of three-part polyphonic songs, dances and tests of courage, musical and circus, which will lead to a final ritual for the transition from adolescence to adulthood. The musical clown’s pizzicato reveals the soul of the three actors, who with a universal language accessible to all meet and collide in the magical game of life.

Hypnotic medical theater

The main characters in this show are children. The children of famous dolls, from Emilian Sandrone to the French Guignol, spend the summer in the city with other friends and play under a bridge. In fact, no one has the money to go on vacation. On a normal heatwave afternoon, reality surpasses imagination and turns boredom into adventure. This story is inspired by Francois Truffaut’s film, which in its work has always kept an eye on childhood, its charm and bitterness.

Saturday, July 16th (21.15) the company Hypnotic medical theater moves to Zut di Foligno And Sunday, July 17th (21.15) to Sant’Anatolia di Narco (Largo Ugo Caldarera, in collaboration with the Hemp Museum), with the show “Safari” (from 3 years). To survive, manager Lomé is still struggling with the problem of making his puppet theater topical. He then invented a format, “photo safari” and organized a casting. Among the graduates, the young Violetta presents the most compelling project: she wants to bring balance in our time’s surplus of “household”, and to do so she thinks of photographing the “wild” hidden in the woods. The biggest problem is overcoming his fear of not being able to cope with the task. Will he succeed? The Spirits of the Enchanted Forest will try to help her.

Rhabdomantic orchestra

S.abbot July 30th (21.30) is a Scopoli of Foligno with Rhabdomantic orchestra, concert in collaboration with Holydays Festival. Manuel Volpe’s musical collective is back with a new album as a result of the meeting with the Colombian musician and singer Maria Mallol Moya. “Almagre” is a kind of musical novel inspired by surrealistic aesthetics and South American magical realism. Set in an imaginary Mediterranean, a crossroads of encounters and clashes between cultures, red as blood, it continues to stain, Almagre is a visceral, spiritual but political album that marks a change of direction from the feeling of purification from the previous work to a continuous tension to the sublime. The album is composed and directed by Volpe with the intention of creating a musical Babel made of contrasts between language and suggestions through a strong narrative approach to orchestration. Each episode develops linearly through the superimposition of cyclical figures, where the instruments, like characters, move in continuous exchange with Maria’s eclectic voice, suggesting tensions, places and actions.
