Altromercato Summer Camp is divided into 3 different projects that are promoted on Italian territory of the member organizations of Altromercato in loco. Each project includes a week-long stay in a place in contact with nature, where participants deepen their knowledge of Fair Trade and more in a formative and engaging way, where they discuss critical issues, opportunities and the future of the sustainable model. organization.

The summer camp “Ethical Campaigns”, conceived and created by Cooperativa Nonsolonoi of Cremona, takes place from 28 August to 4 September 2022, is aimed at young people aged 19 to 26 and is the opportunity to discover the importance of a conscious approach to agri-food chains and acquire valid knowledge and skills to act actively in the political and social context.

The main purpose of the summer camp “Ethical Campaigns” is to provide the participants practical and well-structured training on skills strictly related to youth activism with basic reference to the agro-sector– food, the issue of ethics in production chains, their environmental sustainability and the specificity of Fair Trade as an example of a good supply chain. “ explains Francesca Poli, President of Nonsolonoi. “This goal will be pursued by proposing to participants, as the ultimate goal of the week, to create an information campaign on ethical food, thanks to the tools and skills that will be provided along the way. “

The summer camp “Ethical Campaigns” aims to educate young socio-political actors who provide them with the information bases, methodological and procedural in order to be proactive and disseminate topics of good practice in their territories. And more: learning from these young people, promoting mutual exchange of experiences, skills and talents for the purpose of horizontal training, where knowledge is gathered to create new flourishing experiences.

The camp week will be an experience dedicated to training and fun. The moments of instruction and meetings with local realities will alternate with workshops, role-plays, field activities and content creation, all carried out with a stimulating game-like approach to encourage involvement and friendly competition between the participants. There will also be recreational moments and excursions, such as the visit to the project partners, the cultural tour of the city and the bicycle exploration of the Cremonesian landscape, between historic sites and places in the local food tradition.

For 25 years the reality of Fair Trade Cooperative Nonsolonoi, with three stores in the area, in addition to commercial activity, also an ongoing commitment to education and dissemination of issues related to ethical trade. During these 25 years, the cooperative has grown and strengthened its role as an active and proactive territorial body, networking with several local issues – public and private – to try to be an increasingly territorial reference point for those wishing to approach these issues. .
