Thirteen events on forty-nine dates: in Cabras a summer of festivals and culture

In September after the Corsa degli Scalzi agreement with bottarga

Summer has begun, and in Cabras, the Abis administration, through the Department of Culture and Tourism, offers a broad calendar of events, designed to engage the local public and tourists. This year, the bill brings together the record-breaking number of thirteen agreements between reviews, festivals and entertainment events, spread over 49 dates and spread across the entire municipal area.

The offer includes cultural events, music, literature reviews and theater performances. The great artists on the national and international stage will alternate with local talents, for whom the administration has always given ample space. This year, the identified sites will be expanded with the aim of involving and strengthening a larger number of squares, neighborhoods and villages.

The aim is especially to welcome the visitor, and offer a wide range of entertainment evenings that will animate the municipal area until September in close collaboration with organizations and associations.

Solanas with two major shows and Piazza Ravenna with a major event are added to the historic center and the village of San Giovanni di Sinis.

“Since our establishment, we have invested in offering citizens and visitors moments of quality and high cultural value, leaving plenty of room for local talent, to whom the review I Giganti di Cabras is dedicated, which this year will be its fourth edition,” he explains Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Carlo Trincas. “The range ranges from classical to traditional music, from jazz to pop and rock from the successful cover band competition. We have also invested in major events, with nationally and internationally recognized artists ”.

“The path of evolution, which sees Cabras transform with ever-increasing momentum into a city with a tourist cold, necessarily goes through the animation of summer evenings,” adds Mayor Andrea Abis. “The closure of the historic center, as we want to make it final in some streets from this year, will encourage slow mobility and will be a panacea for commercial activities and the local food and wine sector, not just during evening entertainment.”

We start this evening with the “Cabras Classica” review proposed by the Civic School “Più Musica” in collaboration with the Ellipsis Association: the string quartet plays in the church of San Giovanni di Sinis at. 21.00.

Of importance is also the concert with the Chamber Orchestra of Sardinia, conducted by Maestro Simone Pittau and composed for the occasion by internationally renowned artists, mainly the first parts of the London Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic and numerous young artists from great talent from kl. different parts of the world. Local musicians like Fortunato Casu and Andrea Piras will also play with them.

Thanks to the inevitable association with the Dromos Festival, Ludovico Einaudi will be at Tharros’ magnificent location in August with three consecutive dates, and the Incognito band will animate Piazza Stagno. In collaboration with the Mont’e Prama Foundation, the first international archeological festival has already taken place, and the literary festival Isola dei Giganti is underway (which takes place in the Civic Museum’s garden). We then continue with Jacopo Cullin and Richard Galliano, who make a stop in Tharros.

The participation of the Tzur Association is constant and offers events to animate the evening in the coastal village of San Giovanni di Sinis.

The Bottarga festival closes the season, which this year moves to September, the weekend after Corsa degli Scalzi. Two important events that help to extend the summer season and guarantee accommodation facilities that they can still count on a fair number of visitors.

“Last year, despite the great difficulties caused by the health situation, we were able to propose several appointments, and the feedback was definitely positive. This year we are even more motivated, and the tourism policy projects, with the work of all the departments involved and delegated councilors, are finally coming up one after the other, ”says Mayor Andrea Abis.

“The path we are following is aimed at placing Cabras among the most important Sardinian tourist destinations. Ours is an ambitious vision, but we have all the necessary prerequisites to achieve the goal and the commitment is maximum,” concludes Commissioner Carlo Trincas.
