It starts on July 1 at 20.45 with the sunset concert “Inventions, thoughts, songs” by maestro Ramberto Ciammarughi at Lavandeto in Assisi (admission 15 euros, reduced 8 for under 18s), a welcome return to the Cambio Festival for the pianist and composer who started his own business in the beginning of 80s and played solo and in trio in a number of Italian jazz clubs. During his career, he has performed at major jazz festivals and music reviews in Italy and abroad. The audience will sit among the rows of lavender with Assisi in the background. From 22 to 24 July, the Cambio Festival returns to its natural location, the Castello dei Sigli di Cambio in the Palazzo di Assisi, with a triplet of events: it starts on 22 July from 21.15 with Israel Varela and Nazaret Reyes in Frida en silencio, a tribute to Frida Kahlo (20 euros, reduced to 10 for under 18s), new and exciting show where music, composed by Israel Varela mixes with poetry and dance. After a long career collaborating with major international music artists such as Quincy Jones, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Alfredo Rodriguez, Take 6, Ivan Linz, Pedrito Martinez Group, Benito Gonzalez, Armando Manzanero and Cristian Castro, Gatti and Rodriguez decide to embark on an ambitious project, where Caribbean and South American rhythms meet the depth of jazz. Tonight’s special guest, Lorenzo Bisogno – sax tenors. On July 24 from kl. 21 Cambio Off returns with the three bands Rio Sacro (an Umbrian duo, mainly instrumental, born in 2020 from the meeting between Edoardo Commodi and Norberto Becchetti, guitarists and composers united by a passion for instrumental music and soundtracks), Vanishing the Impure (a shrubs project born in the scattered Umbrian valleys, with Augusto Torbalzhen – lead vocals, micropercussion, trumpet; Bob Mulligan – backing vocals, electric guitar, micropercussion; Pawel Beedinavel – backing vocals, keyboards; Mr. Borgus – bass electric; and Endryo Hollemberg – drums) and the Wabeesabee Umbrian duo, communicating their needs under the common roof of black music, marked by R&B sounds and gospel influences celebrating the intimacy that leads to confrontation with themselves. The grand finale of the Cambio Festival is on August 13 at. 21.00 in Rocca Sant’Angelo, with a recital for voice and accordion with Chiara Pettirossi and Federico Gili, free admission.
