Art Landscapes, in Tarquinia fifteen music and theater events in the most important places –

TARQUINIA – The program for the Paesaggi dell’Arte 2022 festival, inaugurated on May 15 by cellist Ernst Rejiseger’s extraordinary performance at the National Archaeological Museum, continues this summer with fifteen original music and theater events taking place in some of the most important historical and archeological sites in the territory of Tarquinia. The exhibitions will be presented in particularly relevant places in the ancient Etruscan civilization, among the painted tombs of Monterozzi Necropolis and at the colossal temple Ara della Regina, but also among the magnificent medieval architecture of the Romanesque churches of S. Maria in Castello and S. Giacomo. All the artistic productions on the program are carefully selected, or specifically commissioned, to enhance the historical and cultural aspects of the selected venues, to harmonize and resonate with the surrounding environment, to promote and multiply its beauty. The final assignment from the Euterpe School of Ancient Music and the concert with the trio formed by the teachers in this fourth edition will give new life to the soundscapes evoked by the Etruscan paintings of the Necropolis of Tarquinia (July 1-2)), while the adventurous musical routes track from Lula Pena’s enchanting voice and guitar, they will depart from the historic port of Porto Clementino (July 3). S. Maria in Castello will first host the most up-to-date version of the electro-traditional synthesis of the Acoustic Medievale group (July 8) and then the legendary guitarist Ralph Towner with the absolute premiere of “Flow”, his new album, just recorded for ECM (July 9). In S. Giacomo, acoustic guitarist Giovanni Palombo will weave his six-string musical stories with the vital breath of Alessandro D’Alessandro’s accordion (July 10). In Piazza Soderini, in the historic center, the Toranj Quartet, a new formation derived from the homonymous Persian orchestra, will present two different sets of compositions and improvisations based on the old musical tradition (July 16). Then again at the Necropolis of Tarquinia, it will be possible to visit the Etruscan lands of DH Lawrence, accompanied on this journey through time by the Yaleed Theater Company (July 17 and 24). Daniele di Bonaventura returns to S. Maria in Castello by the bandoneon along with the photos made by photographer Pino Ninfa for a celebration of tango and music by Astor Piazzolla (July 22). The first agreement for a sunset in music on Ara della Regina will pass in the stream of tones produced by the strings played by Giovanni Palombo and the surprising German guitarist Claus Boesser-Ferrari, between the melodies of the past, modern improvisations and echoes by Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd (July 23). The second appointment at Ara della Regina will instead be entrusted to an alchemical combination of talents, “Duo Arctic”, where Daniele di Bonaventura’s ingenuity and class will meet with the masterful style and great compositional skills of a formidable double bass master. , Norwegian Arild Andersen (August 6). The company O Thiasos TeatroNatura will put the fascinating tale of “the myths of water”, handed down by Greek and Latin literature in the Parco delle Mura, and recreate a precious and colorful fabric of stories and music from an eternally present past (August 13). The same theater company, with the absolute premiere of “Fanciulli Divini”, the first part of an unpublished theatrical work, commissioned by the festival and based on Etruscan myths, will be the protagonist of the third appointment at Ara della Regina, where Etruscan instruments will play such as cornu and lituus, and it will be possible to listen to songs in Etruscan language, taken from authentic epigraphic texts from the time (August 14) The last event, inside the National Archaeological Museum, will combine the presentation of an unusual find of archeomusicologia , aulòi, recovering from the wreck of Giglio and recently studied by archaeologist Mario La Rosa, with a performance by multi-instrumentalist Renato Vecchio, virtuoso of wind instruments and expert in millennial musical traditions (September 3).
