Design and creativity for cancer research: students from an artistic high school in Treviso sign the air conditioner donated to Airc

Treviso, June 16, 2022. Technology, creative flair and a noble purpose: these are the three directions of the artistic project that saw the students in Munari Art School in Vittorio Veneto (Treviso), which has reinvented the design of ten Haier air conditioners: an exclusive collection that will be proposed duringnational auction organized by the Airc Foundation in December to raise funds to support the best cancer research projects.

The initiative, commissioned by the Italian branch of the Chinese Multinational, was born to bring the reality of the school closer to that of the company with a common beneficial goal. The project, which took place between October 2021 and May 2022, was aimed at fourth and fifth graders in visual arts, graphics and multimedia audiovisual courses at the artistic high school “Bruno Munari” in Vittorio Veneto.

A total of 118 boys and girls from eight classes were involved, who made 42 graphic and communication projects. When the introductory brief was received, the tasks were shared between the students: The students at the figurative art address worked both with the design and with the pictorial decoration and tried to reconcile their creativity with the need to communicate the technological value of the product; those of the graphic address have designed mock-ups to promote the campaign on digital channels, from social content and a landing page; the audiovisual students, on the other hand, created video stories to immortalize the creative process of their classmates.

“An experience that perfectly reflects and updates Liceo Munari’s educational mission”, explains Giulio Venturi, director of the Institute. «Transmission of a communication culture on a path that understands to pollute artistic knowledge and digital technologies, tradition and innovation, planning and research. A path that is constantly projected towards the creative growth of its students and their orientation in the world of study and work ».

A commission selected ten winning projects from among the 42 submitted projects. It was the boys and girls who developed the selected artistic designs that painted the splinters of Haier’s “Pearl” air conditioner, giving life to a capsule collection of ten unique pieces which is donated to Airc and sold during the charity auction that the association arranges in the autumn.

“We are very grateful to Haier for this wonderful initiative – comments Jessica Bianchetti, Regional Coordinator of the Veneto Committee of the Airc Foundation – and especially excited about the involvement of the students at Munari High School, who by creating these ten unique pieces for our auction confirms the youngest active person and the desire to help build a common future, a future without cancer as soon as possible. Networks with companies and civil society, support for schools in information and awareness-raising activities as well as support for young researchers are activities that form Airc’s mission. This project, which combines technology, creativity and research, will enable us to gather new resources to provide continuity to the work of our scientists ».

“This was a project that was highly desired by us at Haier – says Marco Matteo Stefani, CEO of Haier AC Italy – to bring us closer to the inspiration and creativity of the students at Munari Art High School, with a different point of view on our products. When we saw the first works, we understood the added value, beyond our expectations, that the students involved came with, and therefore the desire arose to find an important partner, such as the Airc Foundation, who could get the most out of the whole project. ” .
