With Lambretta X300 and G350returns the famous Milanese brand to the stage and celebrates its own 75 years of history, and he could only do so in Brera, in the heart of his hometown. Lambretta actually got its name from Lambrate, an area northeast of Milan, which in turn delimits the area around the Lambro River. The first motorcycle came on the market in 1947, and today, after various and not very clear changes, the relaunch of the company takes place with three models, one of which is brand new.
During the Fuorisalone 2022 week, everyone can go and browse and get to know the new Lambretta series: it is actually exhibited in Chiostro Piccolo from San Simpliciano, Brera Design District, where the international press presentation was also held.
Here, in addition to the new models, also the Lambrettas of the past including the first produced, M (A) designed by Cesare Pallavicino and with an engine designed by Pier Luigi Torre; and American actress Jane Mansfield’s golden scooter.
Lambretta X300: the new direction
The new series starts from the X-series product line brand new with innovative design but typical DNA. The first model in the series is the Lambretta X300, with slightly more square shapes than the classic Lambrettas, which themselves aim for a price a younger audience to engage and excite.
Among the novelties of the Lambretta X300 are also the steel sides with “diamond” lines that preserve the soul of the Lambretta, giving it a new look while retaining the fixed screen of the past, a peculiar characteristic of Milanes cars. and the tapered shape.
The Lambretta X300 has a tubular frame with semi-monocoque that combines footboard, shield and sides, all in steel. The front suspension is new with pulled wheel oscillating arm and double shock absorber, which it goes with the double disc brake, both front and rear. The equipment is completed by ABS with dual headlights, the complete LED headlights and the keyless start system.
Production starts at the end of 2022 and prices start from around € 5,900
Lambretta G-Special G350
Along with the X300 was present also G-Special G350, so-called after the originally planned upgrade of the engine displacement to 325 cc. The G-Special was first exhibited at Eicma 2019, and now It is reminiscent of the shapes of the classic Lambretta and wants to place itself in the premium segment, as an advanced extension of the V-Special series introduced in 2017 with displacement of 50, 125 and 200cc. The motorcycle is curated in design and concept by Walter Scheffrahn and Peter Beselin, who were inspired by the Lambrettas of the past.
Important dimensions that confirm its identity as the most powerful model in its category, which for this reason represents the brand’s flagship product. From the past, it has also retained the replaceable side panels for greater customization; and the front wheel suspension with swingarm with towed wheel and double shock absorber, double ABS channel. Then there are full LED headlights and TFT screens.
Production will start at the end of 2022 with indicative prices from € 7,200.
Lambretta at Fuorisalone
As mentioned, the new Lambrettas will make their debut on Fuorisalone with the Infinite | installation Legacy for the Future.
