Design Week and Fashion: the stylists’ houses

“Sand you worry about your appearance, you also want to worry about the way you live. “In the documentary Interior motifs of 2017, the main character is the close relationship between fashion and decor. A correspondence that every year, during the Salone del Mobile, is reflected in the collections of the house.

The house according to Giorgio Armani

Already in 2015, in Armani / Teatro, in Milan, the exhibition The Dream of Living, according to Giorgio Armani, was staged to celebrate a decade of projects carried out byArmani / Casa Interior Design. And today? For the Salon opens a new exhibition installation in the Armani / Silo roomsas Giorgio Armani himself explains: “The collection includes new pieces and various reissues of furniture that have written the brand’s history, summary references and suggestions that recur in my work:‘Art Nouveau, sophisticated and timeless, the atmosphere of China and Japan, nature with its inexhaustible ideas. An exhibition that summarizes the most important sources of inspiration in an articulated and emotional way in an emblematic series of environments, perceived as paintings rich in cultural, graphic and chromatic references ».

Eight themes are addressed in as many environments, such as the bamboo plant worldan icon of essentials fell apart like the “Sharon” armchair (“A structure so light that it seems to flow” explains Armani) and the silent servant “Suite”, which “comes from a recurring theme in my work: the journey, the desire for new discoveries but also personal enrichment. I have condensed it into this shaped piece of solid wood furniture: closed, it looks like a small, expensive suitcase for travelers from other times, the designer concludes.

Kaleidoscopic vision, however, for the two first stores dedicated to Dolce & Gabbana’s furniture world. A panoramic excursion among cheerful themes in our tradition, crossing colorful collections launched in Venice last year to celebrate Italian craftsmanship: from “Blu Mediterraneo” to “Leopardo”, but also “Zebra” and “Sicilian wagon”. Colorful decorations that capture important shapes such as large fabric sofas, oak tables or bar furniture, created in collaboration with LuxuryLiving Group and exhibited in space via Durini. Inspirations that come back, even among the simplest interior accessories at the new address on Corso Venezia: cexits and duvets, Murano glassware and Sicilian ceramic plates, scented candles or tea and coffee sets. In short, not just shoes and bags: Even our home can change its appearance in an instant, by carefully choosing the right accessories.
