On the occasion of the design week in Milan, the Triennale has created a special Public program dedicated to the protagonists of the design world with meetings, lectures and projections that accompany the exhibition proposal.

It’s all a plan is a documentary about the life and work of Paulo Mendes da Rocha (1928 – 2021), one of the most famous Brazilian architects, winner of the prestigious Pritzker Prize. The documentary tells her story and the ups and downs of her extraordinary life through a series of interviews with her daughter Joana developed over a ten-year period. Mendes da Rocha reveals his reflections on urbanism, nature, humanity, art and technology and brings out his theoretical thinking. Father and daughter confront each other in an intimate, fluid and constant dialogue, aware that the film also reveals their family history and more intimate aspects. Introducing the evening Stefano Boeri, President of the Triennale Milano. On the occasion of Milan Design Week, the Milan Triennale is hosting a major musical event open to the city in the Giancarlo De Carlo Garden. As part of the Triennale Estate – interdisciplinary program that includes meetings, lectures, festivals, screenings, shows, concerts, DJ sets, performances, workshops for children – the DJ set with Ilaria Gr and to follow, at 9.30pm, the DJ set by Mace.
Mace is one of the most important and visionary producers of the Italian music scene and an artist who is able to tell the times with a unique touch. He is a tireless traveler who has traveled the world and enriched his cultural baggage and polluted his vision; an explorer of the planet, of his own interior and of states of consciousness governed by meditative psychedelic wanderings. His album OBE, released in 2020 and double platinum certified, sees the participation of the main exponents of the Italian scene, including Salmo, Blanco, Gemitaiz, Venerus, Rkomi, Colapesce, Gué Pequeno, Joan Thiele, Madame and resulted in the first weekend, the most listened debut album in the world on Spotify. The single that launched the album, Our song with Salmo and Blanco, (certified five times platinum) it has become a generational anthem.

The triennial will be held on Thursday 9 June from 2.30 pm Side event of the new European Bauhaus Festival, promoted by the European Commission in Brussels and of which the Triennale Milano is a partner.
After an initial introduction of Massimo GaudinaHead of the European Commission Representation in Milan, and the institutional greetings from Marco Sammichelidirector of the Museum of Italian Design of the Triennale Milano, and of the professors at the Catholic University Gabriel Forti And Federica Olivares, referees of the new European Bauhaus project for the university, each partner will present the theses designed for Milan, a synthesis of their projects related to the new European Bauhaus. They will be present, Maria Grazia MatteiChairman of the MEET, Stefano MirtiDirector of the Super – Superior School of Applied Arts in Castello Sforzesco, Paola MoroCommunication from the Italian Social Fund, Ilaria Valente, Associate Professor at the Politecnico di Milano. The performance of music, light and words will accompany the artist’s performance with a light harp Pietro Pirelli. The actor Maria Villaniinstead, he will declare each partner’s theses in verse.

On the occasion of Design Week, a meeting with the Formafantasma designers proposed by the Fondation Cartier pour dell’arte contemporain as a foretaste of their next exhibition Real worldas part of the 23rd International Exhibition Unknown Unknown. An introduction to mysteries. They introduce the evening Stefano BoeriPresident of the Milan Triennale, e.g. Grace Quaroni, Executive Director of the Fondation Cartier Partnership pour dell’arte contemporain. Moderate: Michela Alessandrini, curator, Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art. The conversation will focus on Formafantasma’s vision for the exhibition’s exhibition design Real world. Based on this evocative title, the installation of Formafantasma aims to answer a seemingly simple question: what is reality in the context of a constructed exhibition? Formafantasma has developed the exhibition itinerary as an exercise in balancing contemporary art’s need to exist in the spatial abstraction of white cube museum, while considering the ecological implications of designing a temporary space. The talk with Formafantasma is the latest of the collaborations established with Fondation Cartier, such as Metamorphosis. Art in Europe now (Paris, 2019), which led to the inclusion of Formafantasma’s work in the Fondation Cartier collection.
