Sunday, 5 June, in the presence of the Head of the Port Authority of Viareggio, Alessandro Russo and in front of a close frame of curious spectators, the expected clipping of the ribbon and Don Alex Suru’s prayer for the suggestive artistic path, but also for the same “walk” of Tonfano, recreated after the careful restyling that the administration of Mayor Alberto Stefano Giovannetti and now seriously completed.

While the work in via Versilia was nearing completion – he remembered the first citizen – we have signed the “International Charter for the Arts and Crafts”. Which is a real tourist attraction and needs to be improved not only as a traditional production sector in Pietrasanta, but through initiatives integrated with the whole territory: of this unprecedented synergy between culture, urban redevelopment and tourism is via Versilia the flagship of the whole community “.

Therefore, “Tribute to the craftsmen”, which unites the historic center of the workshops and foundries with the beaches of the Marina: “It was a project I was very happy about – stressed the city council member Daniele Mazzoni, promoter of the artistic itinerary in via Versilia – and I thank the municipal administration for having welcomed and implemented it. We followed it step by step, with other councilors, the public works councilor Matteo Marcucci and the mayor himself: rebuilding the heart of Tonfano was the first step to take, for a general improvement of the navy, and today it has been done “.

I thank the economic categories and the residents who ‘lined up with us’ during the subsequent work and preparations – continuedCouncilor Matteo Marcucci intervention that we have decided to make here, not for a random choice or for the vanity of the administration, but because we are convinced that the economic engine of our territory is the marina with all its coastal towns. Also, thank you to all the employees in the building and construction office and to every person who gave ideas and energy to achieve the result that we all see today. “

I would like to thank the artists and workshops that have joined this initiative – added the city councilor Antonio Tognini – the sculptor Matteo Castagnini and the Mariani foundry for the nine bronze plates, which, set on the ground, mark this new, magnificent path. We brought Tonfano back to the center, but we know very well that the Marina is not only Tonfano, and Tonfano is not only via Versilia or Pontile: this is our coastal center of gravity, from here we begin to restore new splendor to our entire coastline “.
