The Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports (FISE) and SOS Children’s Villages join forces to ensure that all boys and girls fully develop their potential through healthy growth in social inclusion and the name of the sport.

The memorandum of understanding was signed this morning in the presence of Marco Di Paola, President of FISE and Roberta Cappella, Director of SOS Children’s Villages. Vice President Maurizio D ‘Friend.

The new collaboration will give FISE the opportunity to utilize the experience from SOS Children’s Villages in the area of childhood and put the sporting commitment at the service of the cause for children and young people who have lost family care or are at risk of losing it. . At the same time, SOS Children’s Villages, as a social partner in FISE, will be able to convey its message of commitment to the benefit of children and young people and create awareness in connection with sporting events and moments sponsored by the Association.

Sport and its essential role in the fight against exclusion are the real driving force of the partnership, which aims to reach as wide an audience as possible. Riding a horse brings with it a range of beneficial sensations: it gives a sense of independence, stimulates attention and will, strengthens self-esteem, evokes feelings of respect and cooperation with the horse itself. Therefore, equestrian sports are important for the growth of children and young people, especially for those who for various reasons find themselves living away from their family of origin, albeit temporarily.

Among the various actions, the Memorandum of Understanding provides for the possibility of organizing joint online and offline initiatives at local and national level, as well as activities for the visibility, awareness and involvement of children and adults in sports and solidarity initiatives. Among these concrete actions, we remember the European Day against Harassment, which the two realities have promoted.

The world of sports has a great responsibility to society. Being able to guarantee, through equestrian sports, integration and social inclusion of young people who can not benefit from adequate parental care, is the goal that our Association intends to pursue together with SOS Children’s Villages. The activities of equestrian sports can therefore count on a great ally: the horse, which in addition to playing the role of sports companion, also in this case, manages to perfectly interpret it as a great therapist together with young people. “

Thanks to this protocol – emphasized Roberta Capella, director of SOS Children’s Villages – we get the opportunity to act concretely. The sport in the SOS Children’s Villages Network plays a fundamental role because it teaches the children and young people who are welcomed in the SOS Villages to know themselves, help their teammates and respect their opponents. It is thanks to this signature that the various SOS programs and villages will be able to contact FISE’s regional offices to offer trails, such as hippotherapy, to children and young people who are welcome in Italy and to collaboration in events aimed at promoting the mission of our network “.
