The city of Turin is again the Italian capital of graphics with the event Graphic Days® – Eyes On the Netherlands, two weeks off exhibitions, workshops and digital insights dedicated this year to Dutch visual communication and the contamination between the styles and influences of European countries in the graphic arts sector.
The initiative, which anticipates the usual autumn event Graphic Days, will be held from 14 to 30 May at Coworking toolbox and will for the first time present to the public, The Palace of Typography Masonry an imaginary museum dedicated to the richness and diversity of visual communication techniques.
Born on the idea of Dutch graphic designer Richard Niessen, the project represents a utopian site that brings together Niessen’s graphic experiments and research with the aim of creating an interdisciplinary cultural history and a new theory of Dutch typography.
The route will offer the visitor a tour through nine sections: Signs, Symbols, Ornaments, Construction, Games, Poetics, Dialogue, Crafts and Order.
All aspects of graphic design will be highlighted through 26 pop-up chests, which will show the richness of the writing systems, the ways of constructing narratives and the playful aspect that will involve the viewer in discovering the infinite possibilities of the systems. regulate the formal aesthetics.
Graphic Days® – Eyes On the Netherlands sees the collaboration between Graphic Matters – the Breda Festival – and the Kingdom of the Netherlands Embassy and Consulate General in Italy.

In addition to the project curated by Richard Niessen in collaboration with Dennis Elbers of Graphic Matters, the exhibition will present exhibition routes – indoors and outdoors – which bring together a selection of works by artists and professionals from the Netherlands who belong to the project network, including Stupid study, Caught in the suburbs, High on Type, Thonic study And Daan Rietbergen.

Two days focusing on creative coding, generative art and Risograph printing.
Together with RNDR’s Edwin Jakobs, participants will have the opportunity to focus on exploring and experimenting with coding and analogue printing.

In addition to visiting the exhibition routes in person, Eyes On the Netherlands will offer the public the opportunity to participate in a program of online events that are streamed on the Facebook profile and on the Youtube channel on Graphic Days® with contributions from international guests involved in the presented activities.

Dennis Elbers (Graphic questions) e Richard Niessen (author of “The Palace of Typographic Masonry”) will intervene to share their experiences in their respective projects, while Bas Ernst (Cultural Attaché for the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands) will talk about the involvement in the project from the Dutch institution, which has been involved in design issues for years, from the editorial field to visual design projects in the public space.

The two founders of the study will talk about how the project exhibited in the Peace Flag exhibition was born, starting with the ambitious goal of gathering the contributions of well-known and talented young designers to create a visual dialogue around the concept of peace.
