Start continues in Saluzzo with another weekend of arts, crafts and many events, exhibitions, round tables, greedy walks and insights.

The 27th Saluzzo Contemporary Art Exhibition is open for the first time in the former Caserma Musso until May 22nd. Powered by Paratissima and curated by Francesca Canfora.

It involves about thirty artists who will interpret the theme of revival through the most varied techniques and expressive languages. Alongside the younger new talents, the most famous artists exhibit with a long-standing exhibition curriculum, including Domenico Borrelli, Carlo Doria, Enrico Iuliano and Walter Visentin, Il Cerchio e le Gocce and Davide “Boosta” Di Leo, who will occasionally re-enter the district’s spaces with large sculptures and installations of an environmental dimension.

Still in collaboration with Paratissima, the Monastery of the Church of San Giovanni hosts Animal Soul by Simone Benedetto to tell how sculpture can animate and re-inhabit a space, and poetically reinterpret the spirit of a place.

Saturday, May 7, will be a particularly intense day: at. 14.00, starting from the farm to Il Quartiere, eVISO GO returns after a two-year forced break, a greedy walk to discover the treasures of Saluzzo, which reaches its third edition.

From 15 in corso Piemonte – via Donaudi “The farms open to art” with “Dolls, porcelain, oils, silk and enamels, the exhibition of Giuliana Risso Rivoira which brings together 35 years of creativity in a single way, and presents it to the public in the beautiful apartment building. Opening hours (Saturday 7 and 14 May, 15.00 – 18.00, Sunday 8 and 15 May 2022, 15.00 – 18.00).

With vernissage at 17 opens the personal exhibition “Walking with Nino Parola” dedicated to the painter from Saluzzo 100 years after his birth in Villa Belvedere (via San Bernardino 17). A painter who, based on French Impressionism, experiments with metaphysics, just as he touches the surrealists. But it is above all the color that in his painting is light, volume, drawing and line. In 26 paintings selected the journey in the sense of art by an important painter for the history and cultural life of Saluzzo.

Sunday, May 8 Start / Artigianato courtship with Polo del Legno del Monviso and the diffuse trading district in collaboration with Saluzzo Arreda Consortium and artisan companies Shops & open companies | The companies to be visited are managers of Wood Crafts. The Brossasco Wood Museum and Isasca Wood School open their doors, an open day dedicated to those working with wood, the supply chain and people. Start Artigianato is revived to make known the realities that daily practice a profession that for the territory is part of its history, a tradition, know-how and wood.

An artisan printing workshop will be proposed that will allow participants to experiment with new artistic techniques using clichés made with simple materials such as rubber and fruit to decorate fabric objects.
