Sunday May 15 “On tour among museums – The Museum of Knightly Civilization “
Five dates to discover the museum system in the city of Saluzzo.
Initiative promoted by Mu.Sa. – Saluzzo museums to give tourists, but also residents of all ages, the opportunity to learn more about the characteristics of civil museums, find lesser known content and curiosities. After the first appointments at the Old Town Hall and the Museum of Prison Memorial, we offer you an “unpublished journey through time” through the guide’s history and the immersive experience of the Museum of Knightly Civilization. The scientific curators Rinaldo Comba, Massimiliano Caldera and other famous scientists will allow us, through the multimedia reconstruction of the various spaces, to discover the aleramic origins of the Saluzzo genus and their spouses, virago women, who in special moments of the story will be named “lieutenants” of the awnings themselves.
Together we will discover the treasure of this little “camelot” that unfolds in the history of its territory, its valleys, monastic orders, its workers and above all through the history of its illuminated awnings, which not only advocate persistent resistance against interference in the Savoy, but also patrons like Thomas III, author of the famous “Le chevalier errant” in the fourteenth century, and statesmen like Ludovico I and his son Ludovico II. Saluzzo’s story has overcome the oblivion of the time thanks to the pens of Giovanni Boccaccio, who, who put the last story of Decameron in the awning, made him immortal.
Before or after participating in the guided tour, it is possible to visit the exhibition spaces of the National Antiquities Exhibition, which is also established in Castile.
Cost: € 5, under 10 free
Time schedule: 15.30 in Castile
